shamanic educator and practitioner

Carol Day began her Shamanic apprenticeship in 1996 when the passing of her maternal grandmother propelled her onto the Shaman’s path. Her journey as an artist, yearning to understand creative energy and comprehend her role as an artist clarified when she realised that the practice of mastering creative energy was known as Shamanism.

Carol received her official shamanic training firstly in Findhorn where she lived for two years studying the sun and moon cycles alongside  Franco Santoro, and then at Lendrick Lodge where she was endorsed as a Shamanic Practitioner by Sandra Ingerman under the tuition of Stephen Mullhearn. She also studied with Heather Ash Amara and Raven Smith of the lineage of don Miguel Ruiz (author of The Four Agreements). She is trained in Advanced Compassionate Depossession and Curse unravelling by Betsy Bergstrom with the Sacred Trust. She is currently apprenticing with Clare Crombie, bringing into her practice the powerful work of Bert Hellinger on Family Constellations and systemic ritual.

Carol is also a nature-educator, which she sees as an integral part of Shamanic  work.  She spent her earlier years teaching children and researching different models of facilitating children's natural expression.  In 2007-9 she collaborated with Cathy Bache, treasured friend and founder of the Secret Garden Outdoor Nursery,  an innovative project facilitating an environment of natural learning for pre-school children.  Together they created the 'Nature as Teacher' curriculum.  Carol co-led the vision and development of the nursery and its nature-ethos  through its first year.

At present, Carol works happily with a co-operative of practitioners at Synergy Holistic Therapies, based in Glenrothes, Fife.  She specialises in Communication and Group Vision.  Kilgour House and its environs on the beautiful Falkland Estate houses the Shamanic training group work, firewalks and Shamanic courses in nature.  She also has a treatment space at Eden Therapies in Pitscottie, by Ceres.

Carol is a qualified Advanced Firewalk Instructor with Peggy Dylan, the founder of The Sundoor School of Firewalking. She is a practicing Reiki Master and Teacher, initiated by Claudia Duncan. Reiki complements and energises her Shamanic work.

Carol is grateful to the community of Findhorn for the education and inspiration she received living in its wider community. She is committed to being a part of bringing holistic community alive wherever she goes and where she is based in Fife, Scotland.

She is indebted to shamanism, the natural cycles and the practice of journeying for teaching her to see that the outer mirrors the inner and for providing the education on how to work with this awareness. She is devoted to her two children who have taught her presence, patience and unconditional love, without which all the Shamanic teachings in the world would be inoperative.
